Training Programs

The most important responsibility in owning a dog is properly training your dog. This is to not only ensure a happy and healthy relationship with your K9 pal, but to direct and develop all of your dog's potential. As you have noticed nationwide animal abuse is now days considered criminal and courts are holding owners accountable. There is really no excuse not to have your dog trained. I can serve you with several different programs that will accomplish your goals. Please read the following pages on this site. It will help you determine which is the right program for you.

Training needs to begin immediately. The optimum age for a puppy to begin thinking and learning is six weeks old. At that age you can start "imprinting" how to sit, lie down, and communicate what the "no" command means. Imprinting indicates that you instill a mind set that encourages learning and responsiveness to your voice and your presence. The 'sit,' 'lie down' and 'no' commands are only the beginning of 15 - 20 basic commands and exercises that the dog needs to learn in order to be a functional, responsible, loving member of the family. Training a dog family member requires patience, understanding and compassion founded on a trusting relationship with its owner directed by the right professional trainer.

My dog obedience training is the "guaranteed" lowest prices in Tucson. Call and compare before you jump into something that isn't going to work out for you and your dog. I have many clients that have gone to  "the other trainer", only to have been greatly disappointed. In most cases they quit because the program was unrealistic, they became frustrated or realized goals were not ever going to be met. There are many things to consider, smaller dogs tend to be overly aggressive toward children and adults, while larger dogs tend to be overly aggressive towards other dogs, children and are very difficult to handle after 6 months of age.

Learn the art and skill of handling and training your own dog, while enjoying your dog in a much different way that you always imagined. I will put you in the leadership role and make you an accomplished dog owner and handler.

Due to Tucson's weather, group classes are held on Saturday mornings at 9am, during the months of October thru April.

Thank you for your consideration in entrusting us with the responsibility to correctly train and guide both you and your dog in this most important endeavor.

Basic Obedience Course

The Basic Obedience Course is for those beginners whose dogs are at least 4 months old and who have waited around thinking this is the time to start training. Personal Protection Dog Training

Is your dog capable of personal protection training? Many people have a varied and mistaken views about their dogs ability to protect them or their property. The truth of the matter is your dog needs to be trained to do this type of work, If it is qualified to do so.. and let me tell you that's a BIG If. 95% of all dogs cannot do this type of work. When approaching your yard or property 999 out of 1000 times, your dog will bark and bark.. then cut and run when challenged. This doesn't need to be...Call to set up an evaluation to see if your dog is qualified for this type of work.

This is a basic on-leash obedience class. Your dog must be at least four months old and you must be at least 18 years of age. I highly recommend this class for beginner handler's/ owner's and for student's with prior training experience. This class greatly develops your dog's social foundation, which prevents dog aggression or resolves it.

The three types of people who should attend this class are people just starting out with a new puppy, determined to meet the challenge and invest in your dog's future well being. The people who are developing their dogs when the "other trainer” just isn't working out, and you are in need of fresh idea's and approaches. And the people who have been inactive for so long that your dog is actually regressing (becoming dog aggressive) and needs the social aspects of training class again.

This consultation will give you a clear picture of what is practical and possible. Call today, do not wait until your circumstances become out of control or overwhelming.

Private Lessons

Private lessons cover the entire basic and advance obedience program of 15 different commands and exercises.

I recommend a minimum of 2 lessons to give yourself the best opportunity to learn my system. I have had many clients turn their dogs around from the serious behavior problems they were having with their dogs, in this time frame.

In-Kennel Training or Boarding

Take your vacation knowing that your dog is being professionally cared for in a home environment. Many kennel services are way too small. A kennel run of 10 by 12 ( a large run ) is not what your dog needs or is use to living in. At my kennel your dog has free roaming access to the entire backyard for up to 12 hours at a time. I have very limited space and do not accept more than two reservations at any given time. Therefore your dog isn't in a confused mess with a lot of other dogs.

In Kennel training is the way to go given your busy schedule or your desire to have professional dog training done the right way. Obedience training in all phases are available. Two to three different training sessions are given each day. This is a very structured " boot camp " training environment that develops your dog very quickly. 15 different commands and exercises are the fundamentals to training your dog.

Scholarship Fund for Dogs

Due to the financial depression in our country many more dogs are being dumped off to the local animal shelters. Sadly these wonderful dogs, in many cases, are put down almost immediately. To help out in this disaster, please donate a scholarship training program for a dog facing the death penalty. Your scholarship will make the difference for a prospective owner looking to adopt.

If you wish to see the success of your donation, I will update you with the dog you helped save. Small amounts provide group class training, while other amounts involve personal lessons and a longer commitment to development and training a success. Thank-you for helping the helpless dogs that otherwise would be destroyed.

Dog Training Gift Certificates

This is the gift that keeps on giving. Many times we are at a loss as to what gift or present to give someone. Store gift certificates are common choices, but this is even more unique. I recommend a one time obedience training session and or evaluation gift certificate, for that person you know that owns a dog.

The Kiss...

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.

She is pregnant.

The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before.

When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed this red Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.
